MINING MUSEUM
BARTOLOMÉ DE MEDINA
This museum is located at the AHMMAC headquarters, in the City of Pachuca, in a beautiful building of Neoclassical style that belonged to the San Rafael y Anexas Mining Cooperative.
Here, the visitor can tour the geology and history of the mining district of Real del Monte and Pachuca, Mineral del Chico, Huasca, Mineral de la Reforma and Epazoyucán; since the obsidian exploitation in the mountain range called Sierra de las Navajas until the 20th century.
In its exhibition halls it is possible to see old and contemporary photos of the mines, miners and processing plants, original documents, blueprints and maps, draws, mineral samples from all over the country, machinery and tools.
The main garden is reserved for industrial archeology. Here, machines and equipment used in mines is exhibited. The temporary exhibitions gallery houses the work of national and international artists.
